Travis Auld
CEO of the Gold Coast Football Club ‘The Suns’
Women in Tourism are thrilled to announce Travis Auld, CEO of the Gold Coast Suns, as the guest speaker for the November networking breakfast.
Auld was appointed CEO of the Gold Coast’s first official AFL team in June 2011 following a 10 year stint with Essendon Football Club in Victoria.
The recent $144 million development of Metricon Stadium at Carrarra is estimated to contribute $340 million to the economy over the next 10 years. Much of this economic benefit will be as a result of business generated by game day patrons and interstate travellers visiting the Gold Coast for events at the stadium in the accommodation, food and beverage, transport and local retail sectors.
Furthermore, a recent study on the impact of a Gold Coast-based AFL side found that when the club was up and running at full capacity the club would generate more than 440 local jobs and economic activity of $34 million a year.
Join us on Friday 4th November to learn more from Travis Auld about The Suns and the future development of AFL in relation to Gold Coast tourism.
