Join Bill Morris, author of the Midwood Queensland Investment and Prodap Reports, on Friday 4th June for a pre-release of his latest Reports.

Bill will present and interpret the latest tourism statistics for the Gold Coast and Queensland, including hotel and resort performance trends, visitor arrivals and airport activity.

Bill will also identify new industry policies aimed at improving the Gold Coast tourism market, in particular, and examine the Gold Coast City Town Plan, which currently limits new investment in tourism. This particular issue should be a main focus point for review in the new Town Plan, due for completion by 2012.

Come along to find out how your business could be affected by the latest tourism data and the new Gold Coast City Town Plan.

A brief history of Bill Morris’ career:

Bill Morris is a qualified civil engineer with over 30 years experience in the building and property development industries. He has over 20 years experience in market research.

He began his career supervising the construction of residential subdivisions and became District Manager, Port Stephens at Hunter Water, Newcastle at the age of 34. Bill completed his MBA two years later, at which point he became interested in property economics and market research techniques and methodology.

Bill moved to the Gold Coast in 1986 to form Prodap, a company which specialised in work-outs for subdivsions needing special marketing and presentation improvements. Borne from the need for hard data on which to base work-outs of problem properties for mortgagees, Bill began the first regular property survey for the Gold Coast, The Prodap Report. The Report is still in operation today and surveys over 150 sites in the Gold Coast City Council area each quarter to determine supply, demand  and forecast production of vacant land and packaged housing product.

Expanding his research arm, Bill headed up The Midwood Queensland Investment Report after Alan Midwood's retirement in 2003. The Midwood Report is well known throughout Australia as the investment bible for Queensland. Celebrating 33 years in publication, the Report provides independent commentary and analysis on Queensland’s property and tourism markets, as a whole and for its major growth regions from Gold Coast through to Cairns.
