Our guest speaker Grant Hunt, Director Tourism Australia will advise us on the direction of tourism for Australia.

Grant Hunt is a director of Tourism Australia and has extensive experience in the industry, particularly with cutting-edge projects and ideas.
Grant recently established Anthology: The Traveller’s Collection, an experiential tourism based company with plans to develop 10 to 12 unique, boutique and “interesting” tourism assets throughout Australia. Its current portfolio includes the Bay of Fires Walk and Lodge, Cradle Mountain Huts, and Quamby Estate, all in Tasmania; plus Wilpena Pound in the World Heritage listed Flinders Ranges National Park, SA.
For a decade prior to this, Grant was the creator and driving force behind one of Australia’s leading tourism and travel brands – Voyages Hotels and Resorts. He became an industry pioneer in the area of corporate social responsibility and sustainable business practices.
During that time he established the Mutitjulu Foundation to help improve the quality of life for the Aboriginal residents of the Mutitjulu community in Central Australia, and initiated a number of environmental best practices throughout the portfolio.
Grant was named by Travel and Leisure Magazine as one of the Tourism Industry’s Top 20 Innovators in 2006 and has worked on a number of prestigious projects since leaving Voyages including Qualia on Hamilton Island.
He is also chairman of Tourism N.T. and member of the CSIRO/Dept of Climate Change stakeholder group.
He returned to live on the Gold Coast in 2007 having previously lived here in the late 1980s and early 1990s when he held senior management roles at Mirage Resort and Sanctuary Cove.
