Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary Update
Lorikeet Arena open for free entry - just like the old days!
To celebrate Queensland's 150th Birthday, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary opened its Lorikeet Arena up for free entry- just like the old days!
The Lorikeet Arena will become the centre of a new dining experience, with the Sanctuary Café serving fresh, local food and wine for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The new entry system will allow guests to enter the new dining areas without paying admission and explore the Sanctuary's unique retail outlets.
Once within the Lorikeet Arena, guests can then purchase entry to the rest of Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary and explore the Gold Coast's leading coastal rainforest and wildlife experience.
Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary CEO Jonathan Fisher said that the new entry layout would assist in the growth of Currumbin as a vibrant destination within the Gold Coast.
"With one of Australia's best beaches nearby, Currumbin's profile as a unique beachside village is continuing to grow internationally and locals and visitors alike will have more reasons now to visit the area," Mr Fisher said.
"Opening up the lorikeet arena is our way of giving something back to the community to celebrate Queensland's 150th Anniversary and pay tribute to the Sanctuary's founder Alex Griffiths.
"In the current economic climate we are continuing to consolidate Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary's best assets - but at the same time, this is also an opportunity to give people a break from the doom and gloom.
"With our new dining experiences, it is also important that we provide a very tasty local experience with a menu which showcases our best local produce as well as beer and wines from local suppliers."
Initially, the new entry arrangements will be in place for the next three months with local especially encouraged to visit the Sanctuary and see what's new.
